Dear Jonathan
At COBS I also have a lot of problems wit the ICQ not generating new keys
and ICQ names.
For observers I use the same principle as ICQ, three letters from lastname
and than add aa,ab,ac for different users. The temporary ICQ name is
generated during COBS registration (it is send to the user with a
registration confirmation email). When publishing the observation to COBS
this designations should be used, perhaps you could use the same? Users can
later change the ICQ name in the user profile if ICQ dedicates one to them.
For the users on your list i can check in the database what were the COBS
designation.
As for the equipment and star catalogs, i can also check and send you my
latest version of designation. I know i got one for AAVSO ASAP. I need to
get home to my computer and will get back to you with this designations.
Best regards
Jure Zakrajsek
