Thanks Peter and Denis that is pretty much what we saw except we did not see the fainter extension to the North. Guess I will have to start doing mag estimates soon 😊

See this link http://www.astromania.co.uk/2014S2_20160305_0031_PCarson.jpg to my image of C/2014S2 PanSTARRS taken early on Saturday morning. Yes it has got a broad fan shaped tail of spread over about 140 degrees. I agree its brighter than C/2013US10 Catalina. My measures show it to be about 1.5 magnitudes brighter, although these are nucleus magnitudes and not visual equivalent estimates.

Does anybody have any recent images of this. I was looking at it last night with the 22 and it seemed to have quite an obvious broad tail and asymmetrical coma. Much brighter than US10
