The Library Committee of the Royal Astronomical Society has recently
approved the Saturday opening programme for the year 2012. Dates from
now till December next year are;

5 November , 3 December 2011, 7 th Jan, 4th Feb, 3 March, 14 April, 12
May, 2 June, 7 July, 4 Aug, 1 Sept, 6 Oct, 3 Nov, 1 Dec 2012.

On these dates the Library will be open 10.00 - 12.30 , 13.30 - 17.00.
As well as individual visits by Fellows and others these days are a
good opportunity for astronomical societies and the like to book for a
guided tour of the Library and a look at some of the Society’s
treasures; such parties should be kept to an approximate limit of 25
persons and ‘other halves’ are of course welcome if they are
interested. If readers need to see anything specialised, especially
older runs of Journals and ‘Reserve Collection’ books ca 1900 - 1990,
it is essential that they contact the librarian (pdh at ras.org.uk) in
advance to ensure that these materials can be got out.
