Hi David,I am in full agreement that Comet 38p is more than worthy of observation and attention. It is a very interesting comet and is making a good show right now. I have been observing it since October on 20 nights. Mostly for astrometry but sometimes for posting images in the BAA Comet Archive. No doubt there are also measures made for photometry by members using Comphot. With comets such as this one (that are quite easily imaged using todays technology) there is always plenty of work that can be done which is unique and valuable. Ever night the comet displays a new view and recording and measuring these changes can prove to be a facinating and rewarding persuit for the observer. There are presently 116 images in the BAA Comet Archive taken by observers across the world during this apparition. You can see these image at this link:

Please keep observing this comet and send me the images for the Archive.

38P is now more than a month past perihelion, but it seems to be looking very nice in recent images taken by several observers. I thought I mention it as Nick hasn't promoted his 16 Dec image to the front page of the comet section - but it is very good, with a reasonable dust tail and notable coma features. David S
