Instruments and Imaging Print E-mail
Director Bob Marriott

Aims & Objectives

The Instruments and Imaging Section was inaugurated in 1995, and is the latest of a sequence of Sections - extending for almost a century - intended to keep pace with the practical and technological aspects of astronomy. The Section incorporates observing techniques, telescope making, photography, imaging, photometry, astrometry, spectroscopy, optics, engineering, electronics, and associated and peripheral fields. It serves to disseminate the results of observations, research and experiments, and also acts as a vehicle for those wishing to seek or administer advice. The meetings deal with a wide range of subjects, and are also social events which present opportunities for conversation and discussion.

Meetings The Section holds meetings once or twice a year.
