About this image
This object is exceedingly faint but very large. It only just fits on the chip using a 200mm lens. I started the exposures on the 23rd Jan and decided I needed more so finished it off on the 26th Jan.
The curious vertical lines in the centre of the image are not artifacts but are probably filaments seen edge on.

I think Nick Hewitt likes this :)
I agree it is an absolutely amazing image; well done. Looking on this field of view calculator website (http://www.12dstring.me.uk/fovcalc.php), your FoV is over 5 degrees by nearly 4 degrees - it is huge!
I hope you have submitted this observation to the Deep Sky Section, and you will also contact Hazel McGee and see if she'll include the image and a bit of write up about it for the Journal, I'm sure this will have great appeal amongst the wider BAA audience.
I also wonder if there are many older images of it to compare to see how much change in size or structure, if any, have occurred over the years.

Funnily enough I was just talking about this object in my talk to Worcester AS last night.
Stunning and with such limited equipment. Nice change from the usual images frequently available these days.
