About this image

Frames at individual exposure settings were stacked using Deep Sky Stacker, and then combined using a merging program of my own design. The central region is a combination of 2.5 second exposures, then moving from 10 second and 30 second exposures until the outermost region, which is just a single (sadly) 75 second exposure. Not a bad way to spend Christmas eve night and Christmas morning, I was quite pleased with how the detail is maintained from the outer regions to the Trapezium in the centre.
