A CCD and an old SLR lens

About this image

I had some fun with a borrowed Nikon lens a while back. Shoved the camera on a tripod, pointed it at Orion and just set it taking a bunch of 3s exposures. Was impressed to later find I had M42, M43, NGC1977, The Flame, the merest hint of the Horsehead, M78 and suspicion of the brightest part of Barnards loop. Very satisfying for a low effort observation.

All the satellites present just median stacked away.
