About this image

Aurora corona photo taken from a slightly misty viewing location at Strathy on the north coast of Scotland. Image obtained at 2304UT on the 17th March 2015 using an astro modded Canon 600D (2sec; ISO3200; F3.5; 16mm FL equivalent). The Plough in the image gives a sense of scale - the display filled the sky at times with a bright dancing corona clearly visible on several occasions during the evening.
