About this image

The image of Jupiter and its moon Io was a created from a single 4,000 frame movies taken at 60fps using a 203mm SCT with a 2.5x Barlow lens.  The image was cropped and centered with PIPP and then stacked in RegiStax.  Only the first level of wavelet sharpening was applied.  This image probably could have coped with a higher level of processing but further processing would have spoiled the natural appearance of the great planet with the contrasting dark and sharp shadow of Io moving across it.
