About this image

The images were all captured in 14-bit Nikon RAW (NEF) format.

The quality of the individual images was checked using PixInsight’s Blink process and poor quality images rejected.

The individual RAW pictures were joined to create a movie file using PIPP.

PIPP provides a mechanism to convert the individual image files into a format that we can then stack in RegiStax. It also provides an opportunity to provide a second quality filter on the images.

The stacked image of the moon can then be sharpened and some processing completed in RegiStax.
