Planetary Conjunction - Oct 2015

About this image

Got up early one morning on holiday to go out and watch the planetary conjunction. In the clean Med air Venus was dazzling. If I recall correctly Venus (at the top) was joined by Mercury (at the bottom) and Jupiter and Mars between. Over the course of just a few days  Mars and Jupiter moved relative to each other. Was nice to be somewhere that cloud was virtually absent, even down to the fairly low altitude of Mercury.

The wide(ish) angle lens was essential.
