Like many other BAA members, I hugely enjoyed our September meeting in Dundee, including a visit to the historic Mills Observatory. But that wasn't the only observatory I visited that day. I stayed on the Sunday evening in the Highland Hotel, Stirling, a former school, which has an observatory on the roof. Alan Cayless and friends from Stirling AS kindly opened up the observatory and we did a little observing of the Moon, through gaps in the clouds, with their 12.5 inch f/9 reflector. I am hoping that we will be holding a historical section meeting in Stirling before too long (hopefully spring 2018) so that other BAA members can see and hopefully observe from this historic site.
