About this image

On October 27th 2016 I took a 300 second exposure of Messier 78 using remote telescope T11 in New Mexico. The image was to be used in my book (pages 335/336) on using remote telescopes to image the Messier objects (published by Springer in April 2018). I included an annotated negative to point out nearby objects including McNeil's Nebula. This is labelled in the image.  Time of Exposure: 11:37 U.T.

Today' image (Image 2 to the left) - 7th November 2018 shows that the nebula has disappeared.
