About this image

East-west A-C separation timings obtained over a period of time using a stopwatch. This effectively measures the change in Right Ascension. The change in Declination can be measured by aligning the linear scale of an astrometric eyepiece to north-south and letting star A and the field stars drift across it, measuring their respective separations in turn.
