About this image

This is an unusual planetary in Cepheus, as it images so prominently in the red. Visually, it is unremarkable, being quite round, and a fairly typical planetary being 38 x 35". Its central star is 11th magnitude. But the nebula does not improve with an Oxygen filter, and there is very little evidence of "green" light. High magnification and a larger apertures will bring out some complex detail within the disc, and beyond. Sometimes nicknamed the Bow Tie nebula, it was a William Herschel discovery.
