About this image

That's the grass for the first time this year. The Skylarks were happily singing away as was the Green Woodpecker.

James, that is a very nice observatory in what looks like a dark setting with no major obstructions. What's inside? Is that a crop circle in the foreground? Denver is in a terrible drought, I haven't seen green grass at my home in 8 months. Mike

Mike. I've uploaded an image and description of the telescope here: https://britastro.org/node/9567

Like many sites anywhere near a city, the observatory suffers with light pollution; this is worst to the west and north but the south and east look out over the Vale of Belvoir (pronounced "beaver") which is fortunately pretty dark.

It's not a crop circle - I think someone tried to drive to the observatory and realised the ground was VERY boggy so did a U-turn before they got stuck! The tyres marks are a pain to mow over.

James, Thank you for replying to my question. That is an impressive telescope. I have never looked through anything bigger than an 11" SCT, so I can't even image what objects must look like with that telescope. Has anyone tried CCD imaging with this system? Growing up on a cattle/wheat farm in North Dakota, that is the best use of a silo that I have seen. No pitch forks required! My sister would love your picture with the sheep, she always had some sheep when we were growing up on the farm. Take care, Mike
