About this image

This wide-field view of the Eta Carinae Nebula was obtained remotely using iTelescope T8 at the Siding Spring Observatory in New South Wales, Australia. The nebula is named after the very massive and unstable 5th magnitude star, η Car, which can be seen here above a dark, V-shaped rift and to the left of the aptly-named Keyhole Nebula.
