After 4 days of technical issues, Supernova 2017eaw in NGC 6946 was successfully observed by the MicroObservatory robotic telescope 'Ben' located at the Whipple Observatory, Amado, Az. Nightly follow-on observations are planned.

The MicroObservatory is operated by the Science Education Department of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and is sponsored by the US National Science Foundation, NASA, Harvard University and the Smithsonian Institution.
