Sliding carriage installed on base unit

Construction of new observatory continues. The upper section will eventually comprise two asymmetric shells that enclose the scope and its mount, and which slide off manually in the East-West direction. The photo shows these completed carriages that will carry the superstructure. The right-hand photo shows the carriages partly slid apart; the left closed up. The photo is taken looking due South.
