About this image

C/2016 N4 Master took 5 nights to move across the large background galaxy, Messier 31. The comet's faint tail has been lost in the background glow of the southwest region of M31 in this image which includes a satellite galaxy of M31, Messier 32. The inset attempts to show the comet a little better, with an average of 2 images.
