Photometry: first attempt

About this image

22:41 UT, 23:41 BST. I worked with a single unstretched image taken on 31 July and carried out some amateur photometry. I calculated a mag for SN2017eaw of 12.8, which is brighter than others have reported. The image was taken through a UV/IR cut filter. To prepare the standard curve, I used data from the AAVSO VSP, using all but two comparison stars on the 18.5' map centred on RA 20 34 52 DEC 60 09 14. The two stars I excluded were the dimmest two - they were outliers from the trendline. I will acquire greater bit-depth images next time.
