About this image

This bright Geminid was captured by my HD meteor camera. The original video is here. If you have a look at the video you'll notice the striking green colour of the wake behind the head of the meteor which is caused by neutral oxygen. This meteor also had a persistent train which can be seen distorting on the video and which was visible for around 40s.
