About this image

I have set myself a challenge to image the Full Moon rising which may seem like an easy task but not so when dealing with the British weather and time constraints. The opportunities to image the Full Moon rising in just the right conditions are few and over the last 2 years I have had only 4 chances. Sometimes cloud has covered the horizon, the sky was too light or I missed it, finishing work too late. Last year I almost got lucky catching the Moon peaking over the horizon but cloud again spoiled the view as it rose higher. Seeing the Moon rise, looking huge against the foreground and seeing the strange affects due to the dense atmosphere is worth the trouble. I will keep trying. I observe from a local high point with a distance of 2.5 miles to the horizon.
