About this image

My attempt to image Venus earlier in the day had been thwarted by cloud but the sky cleared later in the afternoon. I still had to contend with very thin hazy cloud though. The seeing conditions were generally poor but with some moments of reasonable steadiness. I also tried to image Mercury but the brightly illuminated haze washed out the thin crescent completely.
