About this image

This is a half-size frame that is part of a long timelapse I was taking showing the stars rising over a nearby ridge to the NE. This is a single 4s exposure at ISO8000 using a Canon 85mm, f/1.2 lens at f/1.8. The quality and low noise of the Sony sensor are amazing. This is an ideal camera for timelapses since such short exposures mean that it is possible to get very smooth motion at 25 fps and the low noise means that there is no need for darks or calibration shots.
