About this image

Hellas and Syrtis Major are prominent in this view, and the dark areas N of the S Polar cap around L=300 are striking.

In taking this image, I took three videos of 120 seconds, collecting a total of 135,000 images. I stacked the best 40% of these, i.e. 54,000 images in total. The three batches were stacked and enlarged by drizzle in Autostakkert!, sharpened in Registax, and then combined by derotation in WinJUPOS. The final result was sharpened slightly more in Photoshop, but received no other processing.
