About this image

(Looking forward to learning more at the workshop in September.)

Time stated is UT.

V2492 Cyg is a young eruptive variable star of the Orion type. After watching the HOYS-CAPS video and looking at the project website, I thought I would have a look at this target - which is on their list.

I estimated the brightness of V2492 Cyg as V = 16.22

The plate was photometrically reduced in Astrometrica with an APASS ensemble (via UCAC4), limiting the reference stars to the range V = 14 - 17.

I measured the check star as V = 14.39, in excellent agreement with the quoted AAVSO value (located some distance below):

000-BJW-835 20:51:21.53 [312.83972168°] 44:07:06.2 [44.11838913°] 144 14.388 (0.037)
