About this image

Thought I would share my images from the Insight Investment Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2019 competition, whose winners were announced a few weeks back at the Maritime Museum in Greenwich (show runs until May 2020).

I was fortunate enough to have this image shortlisted this year and is a composite of Venus taken in IR through my 222mm scope at a phase of only 1.7% and just before midday. The IR image has been blended with a colour image of that crisp blue Autumn sky taken with an iPhone.
