About this image

After a very dull and rainy day it cleared here last night just before midnight and I obtained these images of 46P. These are both from around 0100UTC on December 16. The one showing the Pleiades is a crop of an image obtained with a 200mm f/2.8 lens and a Sony alpha-7S. The larger scale one has a FoV of 3x2 deg. Total magnitude from this frame was 4.4. The comet was clearly visible in 11x80 bins last night from my garden in Chelmsford.
