About this image
Steve Knight's excellent Orion image will feature next week.  I just had to grab the chance to post this excellent shot of the lunar eclipse from Pete Lawrence while it is fresh in our minds.
Details are: Composite January 21st 2019 eclipse image combining main eclipse shot with a deliberately over-exposed image to bring out the background star field. Image was taken from Pete's back garden in Selsey, West Sussex.
Starfield and eclipse highlight: ISO 6400, 30s exposure Canon 6D at the prime focus of a Vixen FL102S f/9 refractor.  Image was taken at 04:48:22 UT on 21 Jan 2019.
Eclipsed Moon: ASI174MM + IR742 filter. Canon 6D using a 1.8s exposure @ ISO 1600 at the prime focus of a Vixen FL102S f/9 refractor. Image was taken at 04:47:22 UT.
