About this image

The comet was fainter than I expected, (you can barely see it) being no more than about eighth magnitude. Located near Tau Leonis, it was not too difficult to find. Several exposures were taken, with a range of ASA values, but this one seemed to be the best. No suggestion of a tail. The comet is close to opposition so any tail would be pointing away from us. On the image, the comet is revealed as a faint smudge, in the ten o'clock position relative to the faint tenth magnitude star TYC 274-134-1.
