About this image

I had fitted a filter wheel, but didn’t have enough back focus, so I tried to compensate by pushing the primary mirror further up the tube using the collimation adjustments screws (Bob’s knobs), but was short by 1mm! So I ended up replacing the spacer on the Moonlite focuser for a narrower one which I’d 3D printed. All this fiddling about meant I needed to recollimated the scope – which normally keeps collimation remarkably well – the Moon was setting, there were quite a few clouds around but the Moon was staring down at me begging to be imaged, so I took a few shots.
