I have been watching out for NLC every season for more than 30years this display which occurred after Sunset in the North East and caught me completely by surprise as it appeared over the roof tops . The sky in the North West to North showed nothing of any consequence. The sky was so bright that it took my breath away. This display can only be described as astounding . The late Neil Bone would have been as amazed as I am to see such a vivid sky from Sussex
