About this image

Having returned from holiday I decided to re-process the image of the Veil Nebula taken from Essex and combine it with the image of the North America Nebula previously taken from my home in Leicestershire.  Mosaicing the images was straight forward using IRIS but re-processing the images to achieve a reasonably close white balance between the two was much more problematic. The Essex image had an effective exposure time of 135 min taken under a sky where I could actually see the Milky Way whereas the Leicestershire image only had an effective exposure time of 30 min taken under a sky where I can't see the Milky Way.  I can't say I've achieved a perfect match, but if you hide the image offsets, the joint becomes harder to see.
