About this image

The almost full disc of Venus taken by eyepiece projection with an I-phone. Venus is currently 9 deg east of the Sun and an easy telescopic object if skies are clear and care is taken locating it. There was a close conjunction of Venus and Mercury on 13.09.2019 which was an attractive visual sight with Mercury considerably fainter than Venus but still visible in a small telescope.
