About this image

An iPhone eyepiece projection image of today’s transit of Mercury shortly after second contact. I had a good visual view of immersion. There appeared to be a definite black drop effect before Mercury was clear of the solar limb. I can appreciate the difficulties observers had with the transit of Venus in 1769 when trying to get accurate timings.
