I've been playing around with a low cost IP network board camera (Sony Starvis IMX307 chip) and a 1.85mm fisheye lens to see how well it works for all-sky meteor video. All of the bits, including the weather-proof glass dome come in at under £100. It works quite well although there is still some work to do. Here is a stacked image of a meteor from this morning (an animated GIF is here). There is already meteor detection software available to work with this camera. Has anyone used it?
