About this image

This is interstellar comet 2I / Borisov.  It's now heading south and into range for my telescope in Moorook, South Australia.  This was taken a day before perihelion but it would have been swamped by the moon on the 7th itself.  The comet is moving at about twice the speed of the Voyager spacecraft so will escape the pull of the sun.  Not a spectacular comet but it is showing a tail and it will be a one time event for this visitor.
