About this image

I'm a bit late posting this, it goes back to Callum Potter's Observers Challenge from 5th December 2019. I had made a mental note of this, but lacked the where-with-all to take a camera with me to work. This is from Monday the 9th of December, taken with my phone camera. You can see that the car park at work is not the ideal location for astronomical observations, but Saturn was an easy naked eye object (to my surprise). In the single frames which makes up the main image, Saturn can just about be made out. The inset is an average of a section of seven such handheld images. Saturn is a bit more obvious.

The next clear evening was Friday 13th. After four days of the Sun getting ever closer to Saturn, it had ceased to be a naked eye object (to my eyes in the same car park). The phone camera couldn't see it either,
