About this image

Thursday Mar 6 1997 05:15UT, Comet Hale Bopp C/1995 01, below the Northern cross.

I had just been able to afford an SLR film camera and started trying to image the comet during March and April of that year.  I took the film in to Boots for processing explaining to the assistant that they were pictures of the night sky,  When I went to collect the prints it felt worse than going to the Dentist, I was just hoping something would be visible.  All in all they were okay at least I had imaged the Comet.

I scanned these prints into the computer and Astrometry.net calibrated them.

Surly we must be due for a bright comet soon
