About this image

Centaur comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann's has just had a big outburst reaching mag 13.5 a couple of days ago (normally it is around 16 in a standard 10 arcsec radius). I caught it in the early evening as it was setting in the west. The sky was very bright from the nearly Full Moon but I get around mag 14.3 in a 10 arcsec diameter radius. The expanding coma is now nearly 40 arcsec in diameter and the total magnitude is around 13.2.
