About this image

This comet is currently brightening quite rapidly (it is probably brighter than 10th mag now in a dark sky) and it has a small perihelion distance of 0.25au. It may become quite a nice object over the next few months as it approaches perihelion but note that some of the brighter predicted magnitudes quoted elsewhere will occur when the comet is at a small elongation. Perihelion is on May 31 when the elongation is 12 degrees.
