Pete reports that the potential for a gorgeous conjunction between Venus and the Pleiades on the night of 3 April 2020 wasn't without issue as there was plenty of cloud threatening to spoil the view. For safety this image was taken when the sky was still light and blue. The intention here was to grab at least one shot of the conjunction in case clouds ruined the rest of the night. In the event, there was plenty of opportunity to capture higher contrast images. Despite this, the blue foreground colour of the sky creates a rather unusual view of this beautiful event.
