About this image

The comet and galaxy were 3 degrees apart on this night. I slewed to the galaxy with my iOptron EQ45 mount, centered the galaxy, then slewed north while taking test images until the comet appeared on one side of the frame. Selected 90 sec exposures at ISO 1600, unguided. Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, and further processing in PhotoShop. I used a diffraction spike generator on the telescope to produce an artistic effect (2 metal wires mounted at 90 degrees spanning the front of the telescope.
