About this image

The ISS pass on the 25th did not produce much good data because the seeing was very poor after a hot day. Fortunately there were a few better moments near the middle of the pass, which yielded the left-hand image above from a stack of 19 selected best frames.

On May 25th the Japanese HTV-9 resupply vehicle rendezvoused with the Space Station and was captured by the robotic arm. It was then moved to the nadir (Earth-facing) side and berthed to the Harmony node. The image from the 25th shows a somewhat oblique view, because the maximum altitude during the pass was 58 degrees, and the bright cylindrical shape of the HTV-9 module is visible at the 'hammerhead' end of the ISS, where there was nothing on the 24th.
