ISS on 26th May 2020

About this image

The last pass of the current series where the ISS attained a reasonable altitude (73 degrees from my location). The seeing was much better than the previous evening, and the resulting images show a lot of detail. The enlarged and annotated image shows the principal modules of the habitable part of the station, as well as the visiting spacecraft that are currently docked.

Amazing what you can image on something a few hundred miles away travelling at 30,000mph! Really great work Chris.

Thanks, Martin, but you're exaggerating a bit. The orbital speed of the ISS is only 17,150 mph. If it were doing 30,000 mph it would no longer be in orbit, at least, not around the Earth!

However, I am very pleased with my recent images of the station, having (mostly) ironed out the bugs in my tracking setup and the camera settings. Just hoping for a good view of Crew Dragon this evening.
