Comet NEOWISE taken through thin clouds on 15th July. Processed quite strongly in an attempt to show the ion tail and striations in the dust tail.

Nik, it's good to see you comment about the difficulties in processing this comet, makes us mortals feel less incompetent! You've got the ion tail nicely. It seems to me we should process two versions of the comet, one to show the core, and a second process to show the tail detail. Great work.
Thanks James! Yep...you never stop learning the image processing and that's what makes it interesting! There are some incredible images of this comet online that show a huge ion tail and a really long striated dust tail. The comet is in my darkest part of the sky but it's hard work to see these features! Hmmphhh....
