Some astro-photography can be quite challenging - and it's not always the equipment or the weather. Alan reports that he took this photo from a field near his house in Elgin, during the most intense part of the auroral display of September 28-29.

Glancing to his right his head torch picked up two eyes which he quickly realised belonged to a big bull, so immediately after taking the shot he beat a hasty retreat. Be careful out there!
