Title

Moon & Mars Close Conjunction - 20201029 2300h UT

About this image

Clear gap in the clouds allowed this wonderful close conjunction to be captured with a DSLR & telephoto lens (RAW image processed in Photoshop).

Mars and the Moon are separated by only 3.171° with

the 97% illuminated Moon at mag-12.12 and apparent diameter of 29'40.84",

and Mars at mag -2.21 and apparent diameter of 20.41"

Online meeting with NAW2020 Presentation & Technical Team tomorrow night so hope sky is clear and we get a view as good as this so we are able to carry out a test webcast of a Mars observation!
